Fells Resource Management Plan to be Released to the Public This Week

The MA Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) will present an overview of the Middlesex Fells Reservation Resource Management Plan (RMP) at a public meeting, Wednesday, September 14, 2011, 6:30 - 8:30 pm at the  McGlynn School Auditorium.  Please note that GPS devices and google maps do not plot the address of the school correctly.  Directions to the school are available from the Medford Public Schools website.

From Route 93 South – take exit #31, Route 16 Everett/Revere. Take a left at the lights, a left at the next set of lights (Locust Street) and an immediate left with the car dealer on your right. Take forced right and proceed to a forced left. Take 3rd left and you may parallel park (please do not leave large gaps). Otherwise, there is parking at the stadium.

From Route 93 North – take exit #29. Bear right onto Route 28 North. Follow to Wellington Circle (second set of lights). Turn left onto Route 16 West to Meadow Glen Mall. At the mall, bear to the right. Continue straight through the set of lights (across Locust Street) to the forced right and proceed to a forced left. Take 3rd left and you may parallel park (please do not leave large gaps). Otherwise, there is parking at the stadium.

After the meeting, the full draft plan will be available to the public on the DCR website at http://www.mass.gov/dcr/news/publicmeetings/rmppast.htm.

DCR will invite written comments on the draft plan for a period of 60 days. Comments may be submitted via email to rmp.comments@state.ma.us or by mail to Fells Trail Comments, 136 Damon Road, Northampton, MA, 01060.
